Green DayのフロントマンBillie Joe Armstrongは最新インタビューの中でドナルド・トランプのことを批判する発言をしています。しかしArmstrongはNewアルバム「Revolution Radio」の中にドナルド・トランプについて書いた曲はないと語りました。

「確信したよ、彼にインスパイアされてやることは何もないって。トランプは政治を貧困街に引きずり込んだんだ、WWEのプロレスみたいにね。」

またKerrangのインタビューでもヒトラーを例えに出して以下のように語っています。

「彼はこう言ったんだ「君たちには私以外の選択肢はない、そして私が引き受ける」って。いやそんなのヒトラーだろ！」

Armstrongがトランプを批判し始めたのは大統領選挙キャンペーンが始まってからではありません。Armstrongは2011年にトランプを批判するtweetをしています。

「「Celebrity Apprentice」(TV番組)をボイコットしよう！一番低い視聴率にしてやるんだ！ドナルド・トランプの人種差別的な表現は支持しない。」
